I was never really happy recording, but after…several years, perhaps I`m beginning to get used to it, and some of my favourite recordings of me have been made in the last couple of years! I loved amusing myself in French, with all the slightly risqué French operetta numbers, and I also much enjoyed making the S'amuse auf Deutsch CD. We didn`t know what to call it: in the sessions we called it that, and then we wondered about “Flott ist mein Lied”, but in the end it seemed that it would follow on better from the French if we kept to the same “S'amuse” idea. I have been listening to this CD a bit lately, because I have done some recitals based on the programme. There are a few serious songs in there too: I think my favourite is Wolf's Wiegenlied im Sommer. There should be a “S'amuse auf Englisch” before too long….what can we call that?! FL |
