I have performed the Poème de l'Amour et de la Mer many times with Armin Jordan and the Suisse Romande orchestra, in Switzerland and in America, so it was very good to have the opportunity to record it. I love this orchstra: we have done so many concerts together, lots of Strauss, Mozart, Viennese and French operetta and Poulenc, to name but a few! I'm also very happy to have recorded Ravel's Shéhérazade, which I first heard on a summer music course many years ago, before I went to the Royal Academy of Music. I love the piece! The Duparc songs are quite central to my repertoire, too: I have recorded them with piano but not with orchestra until now. FL |
